Lisa
Keys / Lead Vocals
Lisa is a classically trained pianist who started competing locally and nationally at a young age. She studied vocal performance with Broadway actor Ron Seykell and has played with a number of local bands. A self-proclaimed "theatre nerd", she is no stranger to the stage; she has appeared in dozens of community productions and has also done voice-over work for 96.3 The Planet radio. Her credits include Stagecrafters, WCSPA, Detroit Talent Studio, Michigan Music Association, and the American Guild of Music. She is also The MIxx's music director. Lisa loves food, wine, and Jeopardy. (Feed her tacos and tell her she's pretty.....then ask her a trivia question!)
Leanna
Bass / Guitar / Vocals
Leanna is a self-taught guitar and bass player, and the only member of the The MIxx who can use the phrase, "This one time at band camp..." with credibility. She sat first chair clarinet with the WSU Orchestra and has also dabbled in sax, drums, and every variation of guitar. She started playing bass as a teenager to fill at need at her church; they made her wear a skirt so she immediately started looking for other venues. Leanna enjoys herself an Oreo and stiff glass of Pinot Grigio, preferably together. If you want to get a reaction out of her, ask her about her girls-only high school rock band....
Alan
Guitar / Vocals
Alan has been playing guitar for as long as he can remember. When he was young he told his dad "when I grow up, I want to be a musician." His dad said, "son, you can't do both." Alan has spent his entire life trying. Alan is an easy going guy, with a love for comedy and making people feel comfortable. He's not superstitious...but he's a little stitious.
Jeff
Drums
Jeff is a multi-talented instrumentalist, but each night you will find him holding down the beats on drums. Jeff and his brother would keep each other on their toes when they were younger, and if one person learned a new instrument, the other would come up right behind and learn it too. Jeff brings an amazing sense of humor and true joy to The MIXX. Don't be surprised if you see him throwing a stick or two at the singers during the night just to mess with them. Haha!
